Mijn vriend Arnoud van Mosselveld is een heel goede portretschilder. Hij heeft ook mij geschilderd en het is bijzonder om te zien hoe snel hij mij wist te treffen. En dat terwijl ik niet zo goed ben in stilzitten. Echt knap. En hij kan veel meer.
Ik heb Arnoud gevraagd een wijnvat te beschilderen dat ik elke dag voor de winkel zet als die open is. Een opvallend object waardoor meteen duidelijk is dat in het Jan van Riebeeckhuis een wijnhandel gevestigd is.
Het is een prachtig, kleurrijk vat geworden met vier wijndrinkende personen erop. Op de foto zie je er maar twee, maar geloof me… die anderen zijn net zo mooi!
